The most complete solution in geostatistics

The most complete solution in geostatistics Geovariances provides innovative methodologies, experts and software packages to answer your challenges in mapping, resource evaluation, volumetric estimation, risk analysis.

Geovariances is a French Independent Software Vendor and the world leader in geostatistics. We provide a global offer in geostatistics: research, software, training, technical assistance and consulting all around the world.

Our sectors of expertise are:

  • MiningThe Mining industry: from exploration to pre-feasibility and production

Geostatistics helps to get the best out of resources by providing the latest techniques to fully explore deposits and improve resource estimation:

    • 3D block modeling
    • Resource evaluation and classification
    • Geological facies modeling
    • Grade control and reconciliation
  • PetroleumThe Petroleum industry: from exploration to appraisal and development stages of a project

Geostatistics gives greater confidence in models by providing the state-of-the-art technology to better understand the complexity of petroleum reservoirs:

    • Seismic processing
    • Time-to-depth conversion
    • Volumetrics
    • Uncertainty quantification
  • EnvironmentThe Environmental field: for natural resources evaluation and management, pollution estimation

Geostatistics helps to make the right decision by providing the most reliable thought process to fully assess sanitary risks and remediation costs:

    • Sampling optimization and 2D/3D mapping
    • Air Quality Monitoring: multivariate pollutant mapping, automatic day-to-day air pollution mapping, evaluation of the population exposure to atmospheric pollution
    • Contaminated Site Management: estimation of contaminated soil volumes, risk assessment, nuclear decontamination
  • Any field where geostatistics applies including civil engineering, fisheries, oceanology, agriculture, forestry, epidemiology, ....

Geovariances has been set up in 1986 by engineers from the Centre de Géostatistique of the French Ecole des Mines de Paris (now integrated in Centre de Géosciences from Mines ParisTech) to fulfill the demand coming from the industry. Today it is a multi-disciplinary team of highly qualified programmers and engineers with backgrounds in geostatistics, geology, geophysics and the environment. Being a human-scale company allows us to be highly responsive and to continually adapt to both changes in the market and market needs in an extremely efficient way.

An international network made up of graduates from the Ecole des Mines de Paris and locally-based consultants provides the foundations for Geovariances development.

Geovariances’ offer:

We consider that sharing our know-how with you is the best way for you to make the most of geostatistics for decision-making. This is why we offer you:

  • Software

IsatisOur leading-edge geostatistics software solution Isatis represents a one stop shop for geostatisticians. Isatis is a powerful, user-friendly package which offers an exclusive range of proven methodologies allowing simple or complex workflows. Its compatibility with usual data file market formats and professional packages makes it simple to integrate in your day-to-day workflow. In addition, Isatis automatic procedures enable fast and simple update of your results and make it easy to use by non geostatistics specialists.

Isatis guarantees a top quality one-to-one technical support by email or phone and a professional geostatistical advice from experts.

Isatis is a software today used by more than 300 companies worldwide (amongst them, we find numerous leading multinationals), is the fruit of 40 years of experience in the industrial application of geostatistics and applied geostatistical research.
  • Consulting

Whatever your level of expertise, beginner or specialist, our consultants are devoted to assist you with geostatistics. They continuously guide you in a professional approach to help you identify the correct solution to your issues by providing:

    • short-term technical expertise
    • assistance in implementing geostatistical workflows
    • methodology studies for addressing specific needs.
  • Training

We are committed to sharing our expertise with you via training workshops and frequent mentoring sessions. Our highly experienced team provides a wide spectrum of high quality public or in-house training programs for beginners and skilled geostatisticians.
  • Research and Developments

To ensure superior quality and cutting-edge technology, we have an exclusive R&D agreement with the Centre de Géosciences in Fontainebleau, a research center from the French School Mines ParisTech - where, during the fifties, professor Georges Matheron gave birth to the concept of this new science - .

To refine our solutions, we also offer innovations through consortiums or research programs in partnership with renowned international public or private companies.
