What’s new in Isatis 9.0?

What's new in Isatis 9.0? New features in this version allow the best understanding of data and improve model accuracy.

Isatis 9.00 encloses many new features allowing you to go even deeper in the knowledge of your data. Your models are refined and you are confident in their interpretations.

In addition, Isatis 9.00 offers exclusive new applications: georeferencement of PNG images to put your models in real-life situation, punctual kriging and TB simulations with multithreading implementation to gain in performances, indicators and zero-effect variables fitting and gaussian transformation (M2RC license only).

Besides, Geovariances still proves to be committed to technology innovation providing new developments on two fondamental research topics: Moving-geostatistics and Multivariable Recoverable Resource Consortium.

Refine your statistics

  • Perform accurate domaining from wireframes

    • The new Selection from Wireframes allows to easily create macro selections from wireframes or individual objects of a wireframe.

Select data from wireframes and focus on each domain Select data from wireframes and focus on each domain
Select data from wireframes and focus on each domain

    • Compute the proportions of what is inside or outside a wireframe, or what is on one side or the other side of a surface.
  • Track any distinctive characteristic in your data

    • Explore your statistics by geographic area
Quick Statistics now allows to compute statistics for several domains in one go. Domains are defined through geographical slices or from macro selections.
    • Analyse your statistics through box-plots
Quick Statistics has been enriched with the ability to compute combined Box Plots on different variables or on different domains.
  • Get the best declustering parameters

Declustering now offers the ability to test a series of possible declustering cell sizes (rotated or not) and to interactively select the best cell size.

Compute box-plots by domain or variable - Optimize the declustering parameters Compute box-plots by domain or variable - Optimize the declustering parameters

Improve model quality and performance

  • Be more confident in the choice of your model

Variogram Fitting now offers to compute and display a variogram map and a non-conditional simulation built with the defined model.

Quickly check the relevance of your model displaying the corresponding variogram map and a non conditional simulation Quickly check the relevance of your model displaying the corresponding variogram map and a non conditional simulation

  • Model faster and gain in performance

New Variogram on Grids allows to quickly compute experimental variograms on large grids through a specific efficient algorithm.

Improve estimation quality and performance

  • Refine your search neighbourhood to ensure the best estimates

    • You can now set the maximum number of samples per line in Moving Neighbourhoods.
    • Isatis offers a standard ellipsoidal neighbourhood in Sequential Indicator Simulations (SIS).
  • Assess the ROI of further drilling campaigns

The new Extract Lines From 3D Grid tool allows to extract virtual drillholes on different sampling patterns from simulations that you may use in a kriging process to check the impact of the information effect.

Get a high-quality communication material

  • Georeference your basemaps

Exclusive to Isatis! The Graphic Editor now allows to georeference images and superimpose them to your estimation or drap them onto a surface in the 3D Viewer.

Georeferencement of PNG images Georeferencement of PNG images Deepen the contents of a scene with georeferenced images

  • Display your whole project in a record time in the 3D Viewer

The 3D Viewer now offers the ability to handle very large grids by the means of a Decimation process which enables to control the amount of nodes or cells to be displayed in 3D and in 2D.

Maximise all data

  • Easily handle the date values

    • The new Alpha Decoding tool allows to create date values from any field in an alphanumerical variable from .
    • Perform various operations on date values with the Calculator (i.e. create selections from dates)

      Maximise all available date values
  • Easily derive new attributes or compute new variables
The Calculator now offers the ability to quickly insert pre-defined functions and handle dates through specific functions.

    Calculator ergonomics has been improved

  • Retrieve even more information from your data
    • New Encoding & Decoding tools allow to build new alphanumerical or numerical variables.
    • Indicator Post-processing now allows to compute the e-type estimate (i.e. mean of the ccdf) and the standard deviation of the variable.

And even more to gain in performance

  • More options in the Selection by Orebody: one pass, multi-pass, orebody contact.

Highlight contacts between low and high grade domains through orebody selection

  • Exclusive to ISATIS! Multi-threading is now implemented in the kriging and simulations of points based on the Turning Bands method.
  • The new GSLIB Import & Export interfaces allow to exchange Points, Lines or Grid data files and variograms.
  • To optimize your information, ISATIS now differentiates the line structure: Core & Gravity Lines
    • Core Lines = lines made of core measurements, such as Boreholes or Drillholes. Compositing can be easily performed.
    • Gravity Lines = lines made up of a series of punctual measurements, such as 2D Seismic Lines, Ship tracks, borders, etc.

Research programs (non-public, require specific authorization)

  • Moving-geostatistics: M-GS

Focus on local particularities to ensure high-quality model and refine your model locally with Moving-geostatistics.

M-GS is a new research topic in collaboration with a French company Estimages. It is used to determine and take into account locally varying parameters to address non stationarities and local anisotropies.

M-GS has successfully been applied to bathymetric and seismic interpretation data

  • Multivariate Recoverable Resource Consortium: M2RC _

Take the constraints due to secondary minerals into account and get a reliable assessment of the orebody main economic mineral resources.

    Year 3 new developments:

    • Domaining validation:

      • Border Effect -> compute the probability of transition through cross-variograms between a variable and the different domain indicators
      • Contact Analysis -> display the values of a variable according to the distance to a contact
    • Exclusive to ISATIS! Indicators and zero-effect variables fitting and gaussian transformation

      • Gaussian Anamorphosis -> model highly skewed distributions and zero-effect variables
      • Truncated Gaussian Variogram Fitting -> fit the underlying Gaussian random functions of zero-effect variables or indicators
      • Gibbs Sampler simulations -> transform zero-effect variables and indicators into gaussian variables
