Former Nuclear Facility Decontamination Optimization For over 5 years, Geovariances has successfully applied geostatistics in the aim of optimizing the decontamination of sites, particularly for the French Atomic Energy Commission CEA.

Geovariances has a unique experience in nuclear decontamination:

  • Characterization of contaminated soils or installations
  • Hydrogeological modeling of various sites, atmospheric dispersion, radon mapping, etc.
  • Hydrogeological modelling of geologic formations which are being studied for the burying of radioactive waste (for the Belgian Agency for Radioactive Waste and Enriched Fissile Materials ONDRAF).
  • Research program with the French Atomic Energy Commission CEA related to radiological contamination sampling strategy as well as in the development of Kartotrak, a GIS platform for realtime characterization of radiological contaminations.
