Isatis Overview

Approximately 1000 licenses for ISATIS have been distributed all around the world since the initial version was launched in 1993.
ISATIS is the only commercial professional package which offers easy access to all proven geostatistical techniques within a user-friendly interface.
Today, ISATIS is widely used the world over by more than 250 private Oil & Gas companies, consultancy teams, mining corporations & environmental agencies, and benefits from the expertise of a broad network of research centers.

Technical Features
Data Integration
Import and export interfaces with usual market formats (ASCII files, Arcview Shapefile and grids, Boreholes with Deviation Survey Data, CGM, Datamine, DXF-Autocad, Eclipse, Excel, Geoshare, Irap Classic, LAS, ODBC, PDS, SEG-Y, Vulcan, Z-Map Plus).
Direct link to Isatis in Gocad (Earth Decision Sciences), the RML (Beicip Franlab) and GEMS (Gemcom).
Data Quality Control and Spatial Analysis
Unique ability of interactive and dynamically linked basemaps, histograms, cross-plots, QQ-plots, variogram clouds, experimental variograms and related functions in any direction of space (1D, 2D or 3D).
Use of a weight variable in order to perform declustered calculations.
Variogram regularization. Histogram modeling: anamorphosis function modeling, global support correction/information effect, grade-tonnage curves.
Global trend modeling.
Faults Management
Handling of 2D or 3D faults in variogram calculations and search neighborhood.
Variography
2D/3D isotropic and directional variogram, identification of directions and scales of continuity through unique 3D interactive variogram map. Anisotropy modeling (PDF - 95.5 kb).
Average variogram.
Interactive graphical fitting mode. Simple and cross-variograms automatic fitting. Exhaustive set of variogram models.
Kriging
Univariate and multivariate kriging. Ordinary and simple kriging. Punctual and block estimation. Drift estimation. Universal Kriging. Collocated co-kriging. Kriging with external drift. Stationary/non stationary models.
Kriging with Inequalities (introduce localized constraints to bound the model).
Model components filtering. Factorial kriging.
Disjunctive kriging. Uniform Conditioning. Lognormal kriging.
Confidence intervals.
Powerful search neighborhood control.

Stochastic Simulations
Conditional/non-conditional simulations.
Simulations based on the turning bands method: stationary and non-stationary models. Univariate and multivariate simulations. Block simulations.
Simulations with external drift, Sequential Gaussian Simulations (SGS) using sequential or standard neighborhood.
Facies modeling: Sequential Indicator Simulations (SIS), Truncated Gaussian Simulations (TGS), Plurigaussian Simulations (PGS), boolean simulations, Multiple-point Simulations.
Quantification of Uncertainties
Probability maps, quantile maps, risk curves.
Histogram of realization for detailed analysis of the local distributions.
Grade-tonnage curves.
Data Management
Integrated database to save data and derived properties reusable later in the workflow.
Batch Procedure
Parameter files and journaling file system for jobs automation and quick integration of new data. Tasks can be saved in Audit files allowing full traceability of the computations.
ISATOIL module
Advanced 2D modeling technique for building a consistent 3D, stacked sequence (layered geological model) using an original global multi-layer approach.
3D Viewer
Optional module of ISATIS which offers advanced 3D visualization techniques and is designed to visualize in 3D any dataset of an ISATIS project.
On-line documentation
Easy access to the user’s guide and technical references through standard browser.

System Requirements
ISATIS is available on:
SUN / Solaris 10 (or above) (64 bit)
PC Intel/AMD / Windows 2000, 2003, XP, Vista (32-bit or 64-bit)
PC Intel/AMD / Linux RedHat Enterprise 3 (or above) or equivalent (32-bit or 64-bit).
ISATIS is developed and certified for the above versions of operating systems, however the application also runs on more recent system upgrades.
The following computer resources are required for ISATIS:
UNIX/Linux: 512 Mb-RAM & 100 Mb of disk space for installation
Windows: 512 Mb-RAM, 100 Mb of disk space, Pentium 1 Ghz and Exceed 10.0 (or above) from Hummingbird .
License System
ISATIS makes use of a "software" license which is encrypted with the hostid number of a "Server" computer.
On PC Windows, ISATIS can be installed in standalone mode and is attached to one particular computer. Isatis can also be installed with a "floating" license to be shared over the local network. Network licenses can handle one or more concurrent users and heterogeneous platforms (Unix, Linux, Windows).
Dongle-based licensing is also available on Windows and Linux.
The application always runs on the local computer, the network is only used to get access to a "License Manager" service which is running on the server.
