Non-destructive identification of silt-clay layers on borehole core logs in PVC liners

The study aimed to link borehole geophysical measurements to PVC cased core loggings. A first approach used Factorial Kriging to estimate core logs at the same frequency as borehole logs. Results were not satisfactory because of the dissimilarity between the resistivity curves in logs and cores. A second approach involved the calculation of correlation coefficients for making core logs fit borehole logs in an optimized way, then the estimation of continuous core logs using multivariate geostatistics and core and borehole data.
