NWMDER 2019 – 4th Nuclear Waste Management, Decommissioning and Environmental Restoration Conference

September 8-11, 2019
Ottawa, Canada - Ottawa Marriott Hotel, 100 Kent Street

Our expert in geostatistics applied to radiological characterization of nuclear facilities and contaminated sites, Yvon Desnoyers, is to present a paper about sampling strategy within the framework of H2020 INSIDER Project. Attend his talk and discover how to optimize sampling for initial nuclear site characterization.

H2020 INSIDER PROJECT: PROGRESS ON SAMPLING STRATEGY AND IMPLEMENTATION ON THREE USE CASES

One of the objectives of this project is to draft a sampling guide for initial nuclear site characterization in constraint environments before decommissioning, based on a statistical approach. This is done by selecting state-of-the-art techniques concerning sampling design optimization, using prior information and multiple iterations, testing the approach through different case studies and reviewing the feedback from overall uncertainty calculations.
This paper aims to present and share the mid-term outputs and ongoing implementation on the three selected use cases.
