Registration for CFSG 2026 is now open
Advance your skills in mining geostatistics with CFSG 2026. Learn from Mines Paris and Geovariances experts through hands-on practice and proven methods, from basics to advanced techniques.
Registration is now open for the 2026 edition of the Centre of Geostatistics’ flagship training in mining geostatistics (CFSG), a program jointly delivered by Mines Paris and Geovariances.
For several decades, CFSG has trained professionals worldwide in the rigorous application of geostatistical methods to resource modeling. Today, it remains the benchmark for mastering the theory and practice of resource estimation.
“A complete, practical program,  ideal from beginner to advanced.”

Learn from the source
CFSG combines academic excellence with hands-on experience using Isatis.neo Mining, ensuring that each concept is immediately applied to real-world data. Participants gain the confidence to select, justify, and implement geostatistical techniques for accurate, defensible resource models.
Build your path with 4 modules
Participants can follow the complete CFSG program or register for individual modules:
Module A: Linear Geostatistics for Local Resource Estimation
March 2-13 & March 23-April 3, 2026 – 20 days
Master the fundamentals of spatial analysis, variography, and kriging. Learn to build reliable block models and quantify estimation precision.
I register →Module B: Nonlinear Geostatistics for Recoverable Resource Estimation
April 13-17, 2026 – 5 days
Explore nonlinear techniques to model grade-tonnage curves and estimate recoverable resources while accounting for cutoffs and mining selectivity.
I register →Module C: Simulation of Continuous Variables for Uncertainty and Risk Analysis
May 18-22, 2026 – 5 days
Learn conditional simulations to generate probabilistic resource models, assess spatial uncertainty, quantify risk, and support informed decision-making.
I register →Module D: Simulation of Categorical Variables for Geology and Domain Modeling
June 15-19, 2026 – 5 days
Apply geostatistical simulation methods to model geological domains, lithology, and facies. Capture and represent spatial variability in categorical variables.
I register →How CFSG works
– 50% theory / 50% hands-on led by Mines Paris faculty and Geovariances consultants. Sessions are recorded and available during the run and for one month after.
– Weekly rhythm that builds mastery: theory in half-days, then practice in Isatis.neo; Friday homework with live corrections.
– Certification per module: exam + training certificate on completion. Min. 8 participants per module.
Who should attend
Mining geologists, engineers, and geoscientists involved in resource estimation, feasibility studies, or risk analysis.
Beginners start with Module A; experienced users can join advanced modules directly.
Meet your trainers
Mines Paris researchers and Geovariances consultants teach and mentor throughout the program, combining academic rigor with field-tested practice.

What alumni say
Nuresa Nugraha – CFSG 2025
Geoscience Team – Resource Geologist – Merdeka Mining Servis
“I’ve always wanted to join the CSFG training because it’s known as one of the best geostatistics centers in the world, and the online program was just as great as I expected! All the professors and tutors from CSFG truly exceeded my expectations. The theory course gave me a solid grasp of the fundamentals, and the practical sessions walked us through the full workflow from basic to advanced methods. It really deepened my understanding of how things work, when and why to use certain techniques, and helped me apply advanced methods like non-linear estimation and simulation in my work. They made complex concepts feel practical, such a valuable experience that I honestly wish it could’ve lasted longer!”
Massa Beavogui – CFSG 2025
Evaluation Superintendent – AngloGold Ashanti Siguiri Gold Mine
“The CFSG course through A, B, C, D, etc. modules is a complete practical geostatistical training programme.
For beginners and advanced mineral-estimation geologists, I highly recommend this programme with Isatis.neo Mining as application software.
The Isatis.neo Mining software has revolutionized the mineral estimation workflow, making it easy with a report generated as you progress.
The mineral resource estimation in the past was hindrances swapping between software; it is now easy and all in one package, from data validation to resource tabulation.”
Lassana Sanogo – CFSG 2023
Senior Exploration & Resource Development Geologist – Resolute Mining (Syama Gold Mine)
“As an exploration/resource development geologist, the CFSG training program has not only allowed me to understand better geostatistics and resource estimation concepts (EDA, IDW, OK, MIK…), but it has also bridged my career path from a resource development geologist to a resource estimation geologist. Thanks to the Center of Geostatistics of Mines Paris and Geovariances and their very comprehensive CFSG program, I was able to learn and reach my career goal without leaving my job.”
Dassouma Honoré Yeye – CFSG 2023
Former Senior Mine Geologist – Burkina Mining Company SA
“Breaking the ground of our initial knowledge into small pieces, to be able to rebuild a stronger edifice, guided by a review of the fundamentals, for a deeper understanding of geostatistical concepts, through theory and practice.” this is how I would qualify the CFSG training program.
It allows me to become more confident in the selection of further methods dedicated to mineral resource estimation and defend my findings with convincing arguments.
Eventually, attending the CFSG program still creates room for improvement of our skills as mine or resource geologists.”
Marlies Barden – CFSG 2023
Senior Resource Geologist – Mineral Resources Limited
“The CFSG training covered a wide range of geostatistical concepts during the theory sessions. I then had the ability to put these concepts into practice using Isatis.neo, allowing me to confirm my understanding and ask any further questions. I now have a deeper understanding of EDA, estimation, and validation, which will aid me in my current role. My geostatistical tool set has been greatly boosted since completing the CFSG program.”
Souleymane Ouattara – CFSG 2022
Senior Geologist Modeling & Estimation – IAMGOLD/Essakane SA
“The CFSG program is an excellent framework for learning and mastering geostatistics which allowed me to eliminate the mystery I saw in stationarity, variograms, kriging, … It also provides a forum for exchanging and sharing experiences between research teachers, specialists, and professionals from different backgrounds, which I fully enjoyed. I really appreciated the program, which combines theory and practice. It allows me to be more confident in data processing and better justify estimation results.”
Flavie Isatelle – CFSG 2018
Senior Resource Geologist/Geostatistician – Cube Consulting
“Doing the Master of Geostatistics CFSG has not only boosted my career in so many ways, but it has also opened my social and professional network to a whole new level, giving me job opportunities I never thought possible. So don’t miss the chance to solve a Kriging matrix by hand and get in-depth knowledge of what happens behind a few Isatis clicks!”
