Latest news from Geovariances Mining Consulting Corner

March 16, 2017

Our consulting team has been busy teaching and mentoring new clients offering non-metallic mineral products with Isatis, Minestis and geostatistics

This is true for new clients like Maaden Phosphates who have recently joined our software users community from the fertilisers industry (Vale Fertilisante recently bought out by Mosaic have been long standing users and supporters of Isatis). Maaden requested that one Geovariances’ mining specialist (Christophe Bessin) be on site for a period of two weeks to help them get to grips with the use of Isatis but also all the underlying geostatistician concepts at play in the various methodologies proposed by Isatis to help miners optimise their Mineral Resource Estimation (MRE) process.

Belgium-based Lhoist (minerals and lime producer) have also benefited from Christophe’s expertise during a dedicated one week training seminar held in Louvain (Belgium) mid February using Geovariances’ other mining software Minestis.

Loyal and long term clients are not in rest with Newcrest Bonikro in Ivory Coast sending one of their geologists for a 2-week mentoring session in Avon with Christianne Mariz, whilst Kinross welcomed late February another Geovariances’ consultant (Matthieu Bourges) for another on site Isatis/geostatistics training session aimed at transferring our skills to the end users of our software solutions.
